What country are you from?

I live in the United States. I have never been outside my country. I have never been on a plane. I'm a chicken. :(
But eventually I do what to go to Scottland and Japan. Maybe in a few years. Anyway I live in Alabama. We have a lot of hurricanes. Otherwise its nice here. I live in the countryside. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to get to town. I love where I live its nice and quite. My nearest neighbor is about a half mile away.

Bye--
Chaza

Chaza -- a good old southerner! I'm originally from Georgia. How well I relate to rural life. Born and basically raised there until college. My entire family has lived there dating back to the colonies... My mother still lives there, near Albany, GA. Went to UCF in Orlando and moved to Tampa after that. Then went up to New York, China, then back to NY. Don't ask me what I was thinking in moving to NY. I'm working on my Ph.D. at the State University at Albany right now, so I'm kind of stuck here. We southerners get a bad rep for that "southern" accent, but I am here to tell you that some of the people I've met in NY (born and raised here) sound like they are straight out of "The Deliverance"!

I'd never been out of the country until 2003. For my first trip out, I figured I'd go to China and teach oral English for a year. (Spent 3 years there.) The flying part isn't all that bad - the "you're in a foreign country and don't speak a word of the language" can be a little challenging. Teaching Oral English is a wonderful way to see non-English speaking countries. China pays terribly when compared to the U.S. dollar, but Korea and Japan pay well comparatively speaking. Plus, your housing is generally provided...

I live in England (part of the UK) and its a crap country. I live in one of the most sparse areas in England- Devon and we're quite a farmy county but I live in a town. We have our own dialect which apparently sounds very friendly. :P Though, as England is a small country with a huge-ass population, the nearest neighbour of mine is 3 meters away.

I'd so love to live in an area where your nearest neighbours were miles away...

Dialects are always interesting to hear. My mother-in-law doesn't speak Mandarin, she speaks a dialect from Changsha. Changsha language sounds like people are yelling at each other. My Chinese friends who learned that dialect said they don't really like using it because is makes them feel "dirty". Beijing Mandarin is always cool to listen to because they use a lot of "are" sounds at the end of their words. It's almost hypnotic. Kind of like your - uh, never mind that :P :P :P

Friendly sounding, eh? Maybe you should upload some .wav soliloquies so we can hear it... :D

I live in USA in a state called Virginia (on the east coast). OMG....the parties! The dancing! The women! I wish they were here :( ( :) )

Actually, it's not a bad place to be. I grew up in a very rural area, but it's really growing up now. I've lived in Maryland, DC, and spent some time on the Potomac River.

I haven't been out of the country yet, but I plan to go to the Philippines soon to see my beautiful baby (yes......I'm in love :) )

I would like to live somewhere close to the way I grew up.......very rural and and very secluded. It's not that I'm anti-social, it's just that I treasure my privacy. :)

Well, I live in Brazil.

I was born in a small/medium size city (200k inhabitants) and lived there until three years and a half ago.
Then I left home to join the university (fortunately I passed in the exams of a good university) and I am living with roomates now (lived alone in the first year, with a pal in the second and one more joined us this year) in another small/medium size city, but 1000km far away from home ^^"

Living "alone" isn't easy, but I am already used to it.
In the first year I had some problems with that (well... I was just a 17yo kid living alone) but now both me and my parents are used to live like that.

I don't like rural lifestyle, but I have some experience with that, because both my grandpas lived in rural areas.
And... I hope I can live in a big city in 2 or 3 years. =P

I live in Split, city in the middle of Dalmatia, the south region of Croatia. Here is some interest note, because lot of people dont believe it: Croatia has a place in the history of clothing as the origin of the necktie (cravat). Two weeks ago my friend and I spent 1 hour to explain it to some girls from Canada that its true.

I live in the US, in New York in fact...born and raised there
My parents were originally from Hong Kong and I've been there about 3 times (i think...too little to remember it)
I don't leave the country that often...but I do fly around in US territory (Florida, California...just to name a few)

I'm suppose to know how to speak Fujanese (another chinese dialect...kind of sounds like you are cursing at someone) but my parents stuck with Cantonese...too bad they didn't teach me Mandarin as well

I live in the US, California :P. Northern California, a small town called Yuba City. About 70,000 Residents, quite small compared to many other cities in California. It's hot as hell here and I hate it :angry:. My parents are orginally from mexico, so that makes me mexican >.>;..right lol I was born in Los Angeles. I've been to Mexico and that's about it :P . As much as I hate this small town, I don't think I could handle a big city...so hopefully in my future when I'm older I can find another small place like Yuba City, except not so damn hot >.>;

Now, it's to small to see it on the map :P
Born, raised and stuck there. Haven't been out of the country - my experience by air, reaches as far as the country borders :)
Would love to go to every spot of the world :)

I never understand this question so here. Born in Vietnam and now living in Portland, Oregon. Would love to live in Texas, near the stadium where San Antinio Spurs plays basketball.
