How come there aren't many Hong Kong TV series here for download? and it's sooo hard to find them with eng subs too.

i currently have Heart of Greed - Moonlight Resonance and just found the eng subs for it too. now busy with organizing them. once i am done, i am gonna upload the series, i would love to have more HK dramas with eng subs, do you guys know where to find them?

Heart of Greed - Moonlight Resonance
Cast: Moses Chan, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, Louise Lee Sze Kei, Ha Yu, MichelleYim, Susanna Kwan, Lee Heung Kam, Linda Chung, Tavia Yeung, Kate Tsui, FalaChen, Wayne Lai, Louis Yuen, Chris Lai Lok Yi…
Episodes: 40
Producer: Lau Gar Ho
Scriptwriters: Cheung Wah Bill & Sit Ka Wah

Synopsis
There is nothing new under the “moon”.

Generations come and go, but the “love” remains forever.

CHUNG SIU HO (Louise Lee Sze Kei) and her husband KAM TAI CHO (Ha Yu) have been working hard for many years to establish a famous reputation for their Moonlight Cake Shop. However, HO discovers that CHO commits adultery with her best friend YAN HUNG (Michelle Yim) and she breaks up with him miserably. HO brings along her children KAM WING HO (Raymond Lam), KAM WING HING (Fala Chen) and her adopted daughter SUEN HO YUET (Tavia Yeung) to set up another cake shop for a living.

HUNG moves in to live with CHO and she starts playing tricks in the family. She tries pleasing her mother-in-law SHEH KWAN LAI (Lee Heung Kam) in every ways while disuniting her stepson and CHO. Outside the family, HUNG starts expanding their business rapidly and HO’s younger sister CHUNG SIU SA (Susanna Kwan) is displeased. SA decides to fight for the ownership of their cake shop’s brand name in court with HUNG and their relationship with HUNG further deteriorates.

Apart from the cake shop business, HO also spends a lot of efforts on her children. Her oldest son KAM WING KA (Moses Chan) is not interested in managing the cake shop at all and he indulges himself on stock trading. He also develops an entangling relationship with his cousin LO KA MEI (Kate Tsui) and YUET at the same time. On the other hand, HO’s younger son WING HO takes up the role of a father in the family and he works hard all the time to earn a living. WING HO loves his childhood friend CHAU (Linda Chung) whole-heartedly but CHAU is in love with the doctor LING CHI SHUN (Bosco Wong).

HO works hard unconditionally to strive for the well being of her family members. HUNG, on the other hand, is a very mean person who values her own benefits only. CHO is caught between the two women all the time and he feels helpless. One day, a disaster happens at the cake shop. Here comes a time when human nature, family bonds and love are brought to a trail.

Well, I like HK dramas. :D.

Yes, its extremely hard to find HK dramas with english subtitles, even original ones! I watched only those on TV, and there are plenty of them that I'd love to keep as collection. I could find some tvrips, (i think its singapore tv) but the problem is they are dubbed in mandarin. I just hate dubbings.

Would definitely love to have more HK dramas with subs, here or anywhere else. You got my full support ;)

you understand cantonese? if so, i have plenty of original HK TVB dramas.

7. Journey to the West (chi subs, Cantonese and mandarin) http://wiki.d-addict..._the_West_(TVB)
8. Journey to the West II (chi subs, Cantonese and mandarin)
9. Rosy Business (eng subs, Cantonese) http://wiki.d-addict...m/Rosy_Business

Unfortunately, no. :(. I've grown up with chinese dramas and movies, but that of course, with subtitles ;). I guess I could pick up some words here and there, but not beyond basic.

Nice collection you got! Looking forward for more with english subs :D

While there's a few people here that enjoy HK series, I tend not to be one of them. Here's why:

1. They tend to drag the storyline on and on and on and on...
(From what I've seen thus far, series especially from HK tend to go on much longer than 50+ episodes)
2. They are hardly ever English subbed unless it's an official release(as in being sold on sites like yesasia, etc...) or fansubbed(which is a very long and arduously painstaking process)
3. I'm not a fan of dramas in general, but when the main lead falls for a woman than later falls for her friend and then back again, it's not anything new. I've seen this plot on Dawson's Creek ages ago.

You'll notice that most of the time when an HK series is posted here, they tend to come in segments/batches eps.1-5, 5-10, and so on. which is a bit of a pain for the uploader(or at least that's how I perceive it) AND the source is usually from daddicts with fansubs.

Personally, I prefer Japanese series or even sometimes Korean, if it is short enough to be only 12-13 episodes in length. But that's just my preference. Either way, I'm not discouraging HK series, I'm just confirming that it's not very often we get entire HK series here. Most people prefer to get it straight from the source and have the ability to d/l them individually and not suffer any ratio hits.

Just my $0.02

true. hong kong series are much longer than japanese and koreans dramas most of the time, but honestly they are not normally longer than 25 eps. now i tend to watch those longer than 20 eps coz those are the ones that are worth watching. most short ones (20 eps) are comedies or romance. longer ones have different plots, but of course with relationship mixed it in. and we watch alot of dramas that took place in the old days (dynasty days).

like the ones i listed above, each have different plots and stories. Ex: beyond the realm of conscience took place in the past, about jealousy, power, and revenge. journey to the west was about the monkey king guarding the monk to get their "holy grail" of Buddhism.

those with just romance i dont watch. hahaha :P

taiwanese dramas are mostly about rich boy falls in love with poor girl, blah blah blah but i pick and choose what i watch. so i dont have a preference on dramas from a specific country.

but i do agree that downloading a 7 gig hong kong drama will kill ratio! AHHAHAHA

Just a few of them. I've seen Heart of Greed (not moonlight resonance), Journey to the West, War and Beauty and Dance of Passion. I don't follow latest series much (I only rely on shows on tv :P ).

Oh, I am loving it still! :D ~ I have it too although I can't understand a bit. There is a fansub team working on subtitled version, very slowly, but (I hope) surely.

Oh yeah, if I have to state my preference, I too prefer Japanese series, because they're short and concise(thus easy to collect haha). But to each is its own right. I watched series from all countries (but strangely, I don't like korean series like many people do). Like HongKongChick, I pick and choose, and most of Hong Kong series that I like are longer ones, especially period pieces.

yes i do. though it's not a TVB production, that's really one of the good ones worth watching, and it's really long long long

oh, if u liked heart of greed, u will also like the moonlight resonance. i will do my best to edit the subs and upload for you!!!

man, i love the period pieces too. i love Jewel in the Palace, a korean period piece, 70 eps long i think, but i love it, it's not about romance. i have it, i should upload it, but it will kill ratio though..... if u can find it somewhere else, u should try to watch it, even my parents loved it, and they dont watch korean dramas much. :P

i have the newest TVB series, it's also a period piece, i am also trying to do the subs for that too, so maybe when i get a few done, i will upload. :)

well most of our dramas have romance in them, but here are a few that are not totally romance driven

1. Wars of in laws (AKA my sassy mother in law) http://wiki.d-addict.../War_of_In-Laws there are two seasons, one a period piece, one modern
2. the ultimate crime fighter http://en.wikipedia....e_Crime_Fighter
3. the gentle crackdown http://en.wikipedia....entle_Crackdown

um..i will have to search for some more later. there are soo many.

Couldn't agree more. I love old series! But then its because I didn't really follow the recent ones nowadays, so old ones are more familiar to me
