Is anyone here from Hong Kong? What are the good places to go to or what are the MUST DOs in HK?
Can anyone suggest handy Cantonese phrases that I should learn before getting there?
Also, if anyone here is also on the ABJD scene, would you know if there are ABJD shops around HK?

Instead of ABJD, you really should consider trying nugget's guide. It might change your hobby.

Do you get a discount if you book in advance? not that I'm interested, but is it really their home address that they show? or just the brothel where they do business?

There is no discount.
THAT is actual home address with one person and they even include real outside photos of their street to make it easier to find.
Me and Meify have confirmed this.
141 refers to a law in HK:
Therefore, if two women are found serving customers in the same apartment, it is an illegal brothel. This gives rise to the so-called "one-woman brothel" where one woman receives customers in her apartment, which is restricted by Section 141, which prohibits young persons to engage in prostitution.[16] This is the most common form of legal prostitution in Hong Kong

Oh thank god, a SANE reply. Well, where's the best place to shop? It's not like I have so enough money to shop till I drop anyway, so I'll just be looking for specific items. Also, what are the MUST-TRY foods you recommend?

yea. i didnt think the hooker thing is a good entertainment for you, you are not a sailor who has been on a ship for months that u need to get some "release" haha
as far as the shopping goes, if u can tell me what u are looking for i can definitely lead you to some good places to shop. but to give u some ideas
1. if you are looking for electronics and souvenirs, go to Ap Liu Street in the Sham shui po district in Kowloon. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Apliu_Street
2. if you are looking for cheap souvenirs and just bunch of little things like anime figurines or cell phone accessories..etc, go to Ladies Market in Mongkok district in Kowloon. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Apliu_Street
3. if you are looking for name brand clothing or accessories, honestly those malls are everywhere. but i prefer time's Square in Causeway Bay in hong Kong island. http://en.wikipedia....are_(Hong_Kong)
so your best bet for a one day shopping day would be in Mongkok, it has lots of shops, malls, street vendors, restaurants, anything u can think of. and it's within walking distance.
your best transportation will be the subway, we call it MTR. very easy, i wouldnt try the bus if u dont know your way around. taxi isnt bad, but it depends on where u stay, it can get expensive.
as for the food. if u are a sushi lover, do eat some in hong kong. there are lots of sushi places in mongkok as well, make sure u go to a place with people waiting outside. if you will be in the causeway bay area, there are a few sushi places close to Sogo mall and World Trade Center. lots of choices there.
if u dont want sushi, and you want some traditional hong kong food. try "rickshaw noodles" um.... it's a noodle in soup dish that u add anything u want, like deep fried fish balls, chicken wings,... http://www.openrice....&dishes_id=1004
or you can eat dim sum there, it's the BEST. use that website to search for restaurants, it has all the restaurants u want to search for.
if u must go sight seeing, i will recommend The Peak, preferably at night, the view is amazing! http://www.thepeak.com.hk/en/home.asp
i hope that helps

yea no problem at all. i mean, u only have one day there, so reading alot of those travel books wont help you much.
i would probably go to causeway bay on hong kong island for my shopping and eating needs. plus there is a arcade in the world trade center that my husband goes to every time he goes to hong kong.

Of course we'll go to the peak, we'll look at the light show at 8pm, we'll have to check some malls in Kowloon (even if I just *hates* - especially crowded - malls and shopping). I'll definitely try the "rickshaw noodles" as I'm no sushi fan (you're supposed to eat it in a rickshaw, or it's the chef who's on it? ^^).

As for the pictures, well as usual my photographic stuffs will take most of the room in my bags...Actually I was thinking of trying to buy a lens in HK (anyway all the lenses I bought through ebay were from HK). But I don't know if I'll really have the time to shop for one...

What do you think of Hong Kong's Symphony of Lights (starts 8pm and last 15min)? Is it really worth it? Where should I be to watch it? Tsim Sha Tsui?
I was thinking of going to the peak around 6pm, take loads of pictures during daylight and when the sun starts going down, then go to Tsim Sha Tsui...but looking at some night pictures from the peak, I feel like I'd like to take some like those too...and I feel that going to the peak, then to Tsim Sha Tsui, then straight back again to the peak isn't really fun and is a little expensive...
Will I be able to see something from the Symphony of Lights from the peak?
I also read somewhere that it can be nice to take a bus from Central heading all the way South towards Stanley to have a cheap tour of the island, then stop at Stanley market for some souvenirs/pasalubong/omiyage, check the waterfront, and then go back to Central...What do you think? How long can it take by bus?
There's some nice info for tourists http://www.discoverhongkong.com and even an itinerary planner http://www.discoverh...ry-planner.html

i would have an early dinner somewhere, then go up to the peak, take some pics before the sun set, then take some pics at night. it's truly amazing. u might even be able to see the symphony of lights from the peak depending where u are.
taking a bus touring hong kong isnt a bad idea, but the fact that u will have to travel to the north, take the bus to stanley, all that traveling is very time consuming for such a tight schedule. and stanley isnt a very good representation of hong kong anyways, i took my boyfriend there once, he didnt like it much coz it's just another tourist attraction, nothing special.
if u want to experience the real hong kong, u should go to kowloon (mong kok, ladies market...etc) and causeway bay like i have mentioned above. u can find plenty of souvenirs there too, especially ladies market.
i also would not recommend taking a bus anywhere except to the airport coz u dont know ur way around, u might not know where to get off the bus or which bus to take. the subway (MTR) is the easiest.
