Can someone please fix the subs for Love is not all around: http://www.asiatorre...eb7f6ca8b2bd007

I tried to do it using vobsub and something else - but no idea how you fix the subtitles when they are out of sync.

If anyone could you fix the subs - please just upload the subs.

thanks.

You can try searching on shooter.cn and subom.com for Chinese subtitles. There're probably a few that will sync to your encode.

My guess:
The DVD-Video originally might have had 29.97 fps or 30 or 25 fps (not sure) but Sunnys Rips usually end up with 24 fps (why doesn't matter at this point). While his program adjusted the srt subs he just added the sub/idx subs in their original form to the torrent.

Err... from your posting I'm not too certain if all subs provided are out of sync? And I'm neither sure if you are talking about increasing delay the longer the movie runs or if the delay is static. In the latter case there should be some guides on the forums already.

I think the srt subs are most likely fine (otherwise more people would've complained?), so it comes down to the idx/sub.

I'd use mkvmerge: add video and idx and then stretch the subtitle stream before muxing a new mkv.
Since you don't really know how to stretch you'll maybe have to do several tries.

Stretching value has to be: NewFPS*1000 / OriginalFPS*1000
(Hmm... Sorry not too sure here... it might also be 1-OriginalFPS*1000/NewFPS*1000)

Find out the New/current FPS with MediaInfo... not sure if it is really 24000 as the description of the torrent says - could also be 23976.
And guess the original FPS.

That means it's one of the following stretch values:
(unless what I wrote after "Hmm" above applies^^)

29970/24000 or
29970/23976 or

30000/24000 or
30000/23976 or

25000/24000 or
25000/23976

use mkvmerge to change HongKongChick.rmvb to HongKongChick.mkv.only takes a few seconds your not converting the video just changing the container.

HongKongChick.mkv can then be loaded into aegisub.

hope my fist post has been helpful :D

There are main 2 situations: a)Sub out of sync in same time during whole movie => easy fix by any your video player software. b)Sometimes it delays, other times it faster, and time of delay or faster not as same, it can be fixed by soft but waste time  , just use Kmplayer to watch and easy sync sub by using hot key. But why you need English sub for Hk dramas = )), for your friends ?

if you use VLC player, theres an option to offset the subtitles. I downloaded a really crummy version of "Get Karl Oh Soo Jung" and the subs were off about 2 seconds. You can make the subs either show up earlier or later, so I just tweaked with it until they were on point, took me like 2 minutes.

yea, i like to have eng subs for my hong kong dramas so my friends can watch and i can upload them, since not everyone is cantonese! hahha and i like to get them all fixed up before uploading so others dont have to go thru with the trouble.

but if it can be easily fixed by the downloader, i might just upload them anyways, but of course i am anal about my uploads! AHAHA

LOL, yeah trust me i've done some Macgyver stuff to watch a show or film, like having 2 video files, and 1 sub and pasting the 2 together in Windows movie maker, then figuring out how offset the subs have to be. It's always good to have them situated before you upload them, but if it's a off by a second or so, its an easy fix.

can anyone just willing to fix the subs [idx and sub] file for that movie please?
many people aren't complaining cos most people don't understand canto - so need the eng sub .srt file - which seems to be in sync. So thats why no-one is complaining about the chinese subtitles.

The audio is not out of sync, but the chi subs seems to be delayed.
I can fix that on VLC, but thing thing is - I want it to be matching so then i can burn it on a dvd.
To be watched on my dvd player.
