A vampire named Saya, who is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan, is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon is disguise.
Well, I actually want to post it before but the now is the right time.
I saw the trailer in emirates mall in november at cinestar. To tell you the truth, it looks similar to the anime version but the action is way different than the anime version. The setting looks colorful.

This film was to be released state-side summer 2008, but got pushed back until march 2009. Bummer.

It stars Jun Ji-hyun as Saya, the female lead from "My Sassy Girl".

It was produced in association with a french production company, so there is a chance that it may be really good. Had it been done in Hollywood, I would be certain of it's crappiness.

I hope it works out well, because the concept is pretty cool. The production stills I have seen look true to the story, and I am pretty optimistic.

I don't know why they changed the release date? They always do that and it lowers my expectation. Even in games.

Apparently, this is an indie production. They probably hit a few logistical snags or something. There isn't a lot of information about the delay out on the internets.

One thing I read that was interesting was that the time-frame or the story has changed. In the original anime, the story took place on a 1960's airbase in Okinawa. Now it's switched to 1948 Tokyo on an occupying American military base. This switch could be really cool, as there was all sorts of trouble and social unrest during that time. Occupied Japan has rarely been a subject of movies recently.

It might work, but I'm not a fan of anime/video game/comic book movies, they ether work really well, or suck anus.

I'm definitely going to watch this considering it has a A-list movie actress and one of my fav at that. I honestly do find it strange that Jeon Ji-Hyun is playing it though. I would've expected a native Japanese person to play the part.

I was really entertained by the animated short put out by Production I.G. and I do have to say I'm going to be watching this adaptation with some semblance of cautiousness. I have high hopes though. We'll see.....

Yikes, where is Mamoru Oshii when you need him?
This sounds not as bad as I feared, but I hear no reason to cheer either...

The beginning was good, really close to the original but then it becomes weird and long...
But the pictures were good ^^

I liked this movie...it didnt seem to be a high budget film by some of the cinematic scenes, but a good film nonetheless

Truly and utterly awful! This is my review of Blood: The Last Vampire

I love the original anime and Jeon Ji-hyun is a fine actress IMHO but neither of these things can rescue such a terrible feature-length farrago...

Honestly I liked the movie. I am not going to say it is great, but compared to allot of other anime's turned movie, it was quite okay.

Look what they did to dragon ball!
